I love my crock pot, this is why. it makes the yummiest pot roast ever :)
this is pot roast, my yummy beer bread, cheesy cauliflower, and Hawaiian iced tea, it’s from a mix, so yummy made with cane instead of fructose, with natural lemon flavor, and mashed potatoes.
this is really easy,
you need a crock pot. I’m sure you could do it at low heat in your oven in a covered pot too. but I can’t give instructions as to time and temperature that way.
1 can of garlic cream of mushroom
1 package of powdered onion soup and dip mix.
I would not add salt unless you like things really salty, the 2 soups make it plenty salty.
mix these together in the bottom of the crock pot
a nice cut of some kind of roasting meat. I don’t ever use the same thing I choose the one that looks the least fatty.
heat a large skillet with some butter or olive oil, enough to coat the bottom, approx 2 tbsp of which ever you choose. just over medium heat will work. pepper the meat place that side down in the pan, sear it so it gets a nice pretty brown color. pepper the side that is up and flip the meat, repeat the caramelizing process on all sides I use tongs so you can get even the littler edges. once it is pretty and brown on all sides put in the crockpot on top of the sauce.
cook on low heat for 6-7 hours. turning about every 2 hours. if that’s not possible turn at least once. turn up to high for the last 30-60 minutes. serve and enjoy.
I will post the beer bread at some later date. :)
